In September 2015, the Seiko Instruments Inc. semiconductor business was spun off from Seiko Holdings Group as an independent maker of analog semiconductors and named Seiko Semiconductor Corporation, and renamed as ABLIC in January, 2018.
ABLIC began in-house development and fabrication of CMOS ICs in 1970, based on the production of the world’s first practical quartz watches in which CMOS ICs were incorporated.
ABLIC strength lies in the low-current consumption, low-voltage operation, and ultra-small package technologies ABLIC has developed over many years. As is the case with ABLIC automotive memory products, many of ABLIC product lines hold some of the greatest market shares in the world and our products receive global praise for their high quality.
